What we are

EcommIQ is an independent editorial and benchmarking platform for emerging DTC brands.

We profile, review, rank, and benchmark small and mid-size ecommerce brands so that buyers, partners, investors, and AI discovery systems can understand who is credible in each category — and why.

We are not an ecommerce news blog. We are not a software tool. We are not in the business of guaranteeing anyone a citation, a ranking, or a result. We are building a documented, trustworthy record of the brands the internet currently overlooks.

Why we exist

The internet rewards brands that are already winning. The bigger you are, the more third parties have written about you, reviewed you, ranked you, and linked to you — which makes you easier to trust, easier to find, and easier to choose.

Emerging brands are stuck in the opposite loop. They need credibility to scale, but credibility is mostly granted to brands that have already scaled.

EcommIQ exists to break that loop for brands that have earned it — to give credible emerging brands a serious, structured, third-party place where their story, products, and proof are documented to the same standard the big players enjoy.

What we believe

  • Small brands deserve serious coverage. Emerging brands are not filler. They’re companies worth understanding, and we cover them like it.
  • Credibility comes before cash. We will turn down revenue before we’ll feature a brand that doesn’t meet our standard. A credibility platform that compromises has nothing to sell.
  • Clear beats clever. Every profile, review, and ranking should be easy to understand at a glance.
  • Honest editorial standards are non-negotiable. Brands can buy a profile or a placement. They cannot buy false praise.

We build the database, not just the article. Every piece of work we publish makes the broader record of emerging brands more complete and more useful.

How we make money

We’re transparent about this, because how a credibility platform earns its keep determines whether you can trust it.

We earn through paid brand profiles, founder features, editorial reviews, category inclusion, newsletter sponsorships, and sponsored research. We do not sell positive reviews, guaranteed rankings, or removal of criticism. Where money changes hands, it’s disclosed. What we publish about a brand’s quality is editorially independent of whether they’ve paid us for anything.
